At last, Loch Heilan is producing some excellent fish.

     5lb 1oz trout caught by Ronald Mackenzie on May 23rd 2005         
                                    

      

 

 

    

    

    It was hoped by Ronnie that this would turn out to be the heaviest  fish of the 2005 season but after news of the above catch several DFFA anglers tried their luck on Heilan. Eventually Dick Bolton was rewarded with the two trout shown below :-    

Despite many further outings  no bigger fish has yet been caught  (mid July )

              RECORD  TROUT  FROM LOCH WATTEN

Kevin Manson (14 ) of Thurso while fishing with his grandfather, Pat Nicol, landed a trout of 4lb 6oz from Loch Watten.

The  fish fell to a Claret Sedghog on July 6th 2005
